Amy, a dedicated educator, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her teaching. A foundation in transformative studies

Amy's academic journey is marked by a relentless pursuit of knowledge and a focus on transformative learning. She earned her PhD in Transformative Studies from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Her doctoral research delved into theories for decolonizing academia and explored the student experience of critique in a Master of Fine Arts program. This foundational work informs her unique approach to teaching, emphasizing critical thinking and a holistic understanding of concepts.

Exploring philosophy and artistic expression

Prior to her PhD, Amy's MFA inquiry examined Albert Camus' philosophical notion of the absurd as it applies to individual roles in contemporary society. She also holds a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies, where she explored her own artistic process and its interconnectedness of all things through reflection and reflexive practice.
